Please don't vote Tories. Vote anyone else but the tories. They will strip our country bare and sell it off to the highest bidder (as is their track record). If you don't want to vote Labour - vote for the Liberals.

:rotfl: As opposed to Labour who don't need to sell the family silver to run the country to the dogs. As for the lib-dems  no substance.

Is this another reference to selling gold...?

The amount we lost out on the gold reserves represents ~0.5% of the recent bail out plan. Be honest, it's a pretty poor argument isn't it?

haha .. before you agree to vote labour ... wait until next budget and then see how this has all been paid for.

Tax has gone up so much in the last 10 years and rather than save some of it for a rainy day, there is nothing. At a time when we're supposed to be careful, our government is borrowing more and more. We've got the credit crunch, wait for the country crunch!

Maybe the OP should consider ID card scheme and what that'll cost, GCHQ web browsing database, DNA database, 10p tax events, war in Iraq and that Gordon Brown is in total denial about any responsibility for what's happening to the financial system.

I suspect most of this lit will be canned now. If not, we the people need to be asking the question "who is going to pay for it and where will the money come from?".

I think we already know the answer but good to make them squirm!

LOL! The tories wanted even less regulation than we currently have. It makes sense I suppose because those greedy bankers are their friends after all.
I worry that you are demonstrating how fickle the electorate can be.
Gordon Brown is great mates with the city too - he loves them and told them many times how he wanted to make London the centre of banking and how "light touch" regulation was the way forwards.

This "Tories and their fat cat mates, unlike the Labour party who represent the good honest worker" is marketing tosh. Wake up - it's not 1997, we have the internet now.

Claiming that the "conservatives will strip the country bare" is also a pretty poor argument.

The current government have made a 50% increase in public spending over the last 10 years (inflation adjusted)and this has not provided any startling improvement in quality of life.

Do you realise that future public sector pensions and unfunded - ie: they come out of future tax? The pension debt takes our national debt to over 100% of GDP.

The situation will mean that those actually doing productive work will be paying massive amounts of tax to cover pension liabilities before they even start saving money for their own pension. Gordon Brown raided pensions with his tax take on dividend payments in pension funds.

If you want a laugh then take a look at the pension arrangement MPs voted for themselves to have.

There are plenty of good reasons as to why the conservatives might not be good for the country, but meaningless chants are not one of them. Unless you want me to call Labour "tax and spend".

You might hope, but when you have a delusional control freak who must have his way, it might all be kept. Finances by borrowing or PFI or something.

If any government gave my family £40K of taxpayers' money, I suppose I might consider voting for them.

But you could argue that it was electoral bribery - or using taxpayers' money to pay for their own errors in judgement - rather than good government.

There are always deserving cases in health & education, and over the next five to ten years how many will have to be turned down because of our growing public debt allied to the economic downturn heading our way?

 Err no. But since you raise it it is a good example of Brown's incompetence - "hey everyone I'm going to sell a shed load of gold soon so please feel free to short it like crazy so the country loses a fortune".

Well I think the "Building Schools for the Future" program is a huge and impressive investment in education. Massive recruitment drive for teachers. Interactive classrooms etc.
Waiting times for appointments at hospital have been slashed.
I personally have seen an improvement in quality of life.
    Thanks
