Virgin anyone else received this!

I have just received an email from Virgin asking if I'd like to win £3000 off my credit card bill, just sign up for Virgin net access, the first question is my card number, card limit, and the last 3 digits on the back of the card, this has to be a con surely!

    Please tell them here:- http://www.virgin.net/internetaccess/
You have to pay for internet access so credit card details are required . Watch out for keystroke trojans on your system.

Hi, I think you misunderstand me, it is signing up so you can look at your credit card account not for internet access, and I am sure they would not ask for those details over the internet!

    Use this link

    https://www.bankcardservices.co.uk

    You click on 'Enrol Now!'

Yes, you do have to supply these details but this should be safe to do - It must have been how I registered my own cards orginally but that was a long time ago!

If in doubt call the MBNA number [or use 0800 062 062 or any number from your own statement] and get them to connect you to the IT people to confirm the routine. They can also confirm [or dispell] whether there is such a prize being offered. Please post back if you find this out

    Thanks
.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam
  • I got exactly the same thing from MBNA (who manage Virgin), only it was on a piece of paper included with all the other junk that you now get when your statement from MBNA arrives.

  • I got it too, which was a tad confusing as I'm already signed up to
access my account on the internet. I ignored it as a scam - I never
    win anything anyway.

What a dolt I am! I confused internet access with internet service. The good news is that Virgin have accepted me for a 0% 9 months card and they are my ISP too. I've got the £35 clamp on balance transfer fee in the terms and conditions and will try to wangle out of it.

  • Hi
I would be very ,very wary of getting Virgins credit card, we have had nothingbut problems with them. There service is terrible and if you go over on credit bearing trems they really sting you. We actually just paid them off because of all the hassle they gave us.
They even charged us £24.00 intereast when we were £34.00 in credit ( because they mistakingly took double their payment from our bank account :-/ ) .
Even when we tried to close the account they keeped sending us bills, and then intereast on the bills they were sending us !!!
They are really a total nightmare they are handled by another banking company who are totally inefficient.
I would be here all day telling you my woes with them but there are lots of companys offering great 0% intereast deals - so please dont take Virgins - there like one of those Freddie Kougar movies ( really awful + refuse to go away ...... ) ;D
Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.

Virgin is the company name of the card but they don't run the card personally. It's run by MBNA.
  • i have virgin card too and i'm not happy. Strange really, because my MBNA cards and service are great! Just discovered by checking online, that my Virgin card was used in South Korea to the tune of 450 pounds! Virgin didn't know! I told them, they cancelled the card, promised refunds. Now 6 weeks later, i have new Virgin card but half the 'debt' is still there.... been transferred to my new card and when I phone to question this they say it will be sorted out 'later'. They promised to phone me regarding the fraud but didn't. They promised to write but didn't. Doubt that I'll ever use Virgin again.... but their gyms are good!!
