Yes, it's more likely to get you a solution but really it should be 3 who are sorting this out (but they'd likely just be going to Nokia the same as you so it probably makes sense to go direct)

The article talks about 100 reported cases which may seem small, however the article is from August 2007 and the phone had only just been released around then, also plenty of people don't report it, I've known quite a few people with this phone and every one has had the overheating probem, It seems to have varying degrees though.

    Thanks again Bamber.
I have just emailed Nokia, so hopefully I will get some outcome.
3 promised to phone me back in 2 hours about it. That was nearly 3 hours ago. They are hopeless!

Finally had a result from 3. Only just at nearly 9pm and several phone calls and email chats later.

I am getting a refurbished Nokia 6220. I have no idea if it is a better phone or not but it does have Skype enabled and hopefully it won't burn my ear.

Many thanks for all your help and support!! I've just got to work out now, how I can get my money back from Icesave.

Oh good grief, I feared that it wasn't going to be Skype compatible. I must have asked them at least 20 times, that it definitely was. It is going to be delivered Thursday, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Do you ever feel like you are standing under a very dark cloud?

    Yes all the time

If you need skype try fring (https://www.fring.com) don't worry its free and is a 3rd party app that might be compatiable with your phone (they seem to hide the list so can't tell you) it can talk to the skype network so its worth a shot.

I asked around a few mates and it seems it might come pre-loaded with skype, the phone looks smart take a look here http://europe.nokia.com/A4823010 if not fring will do the job :)

Wow, thanks for all this info d.edna. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is already loaded and working.

Just had funny moment. I had a random sales call from 3 who wanted to know if I would like to renew my contract, for another 18 months(I still have 8 months to run) and have a new phone. I laughed so much, that even the operator started laughing. I think she realised that I would not be renewing.:D

Hi, yes, the phone has arrived (sorry for not saying before, too ill) and according to the delivery guy, it is a brand new phone and not a reconditioned one!

Even better, the phone does have Skype and all seems well. Although, I am not sure what half the features are or if I use them, will I be paying for them?

I keep receiving calls from 3 though, wanting to discuss my overheating Nokia 6120, as though I still have it and use it. I keep asking them to update their records but it seems that their left hand doesn't know what their right hand is doing.

Many thanks for all your help, all of you!! :j

Basically as long as it doesnt go onto the internet, makes a phone call or sends a text you won't be charged, GPS is free, You don't use it you won't be charged is my method
