Well i've been waiting with baited breath for my first Asda delivery between 10-12 am today. (yes I really am THAT sad!!!) :rotfl:

Have just received a call from a lovely young man called Peter letting me know that my delivery would be a bit late

When I asked how late was late he said it SHOULD be here by 2:30pm :o

Not impressed so far but hopefully its just teething troubles.

Stay tuned for my next thrilling installment.........................

OK panic over, about 5 mins after the previous post I got another call saying they'd be with me in 5 mins. The delivery girl (who I know), said basically it was their first ever run and the Manager who was tagging along with her was being overly cautious about being late etc

Everything was delivered and in the middle of my kitchen floor by 12.05pm.

Only 1 item unavailable and 8 substituted items. All really good substitutes and a grade or two up from my own brand stuff. Especially the pull-up pants for my youngest.Give me Pampers instead of Asda own brand. Wish i'd ordered more packets now lol

Now if they could provide someone to put them away for me while i have a coffee i'd be a very happy bunny

oh yes make me jealous, I was comig back form Antrim this morning and went to Asda in Ballyclare, no home deliveries for us poor people lol I must admit though last time I was there was day after it opened, a lot more relaxed and did not spend as much as I do in tesco.

Was pleased enough with delivery although the driver was very uptight, went back to Tesco this week as Asdas stuff just didnt taste as good and the packs were smaller.

I love the way Ocado deliver to your kitchen - sounds from your experiences like the others do it too.

Ocado used to be the most expensive (delivering waitrose stuff) but they now price match - although I've never checked it - so I have definitely seen the prices come down. I did see on another thread that mysupermarket is worth a try - but I haven't tried it yet. Maybe this is why their prices have come down? Have been using online grocery store.co.uk to check supermarket delivery costs and charges. Esp useful around this time of year as prices delivery go up and down daily.

Worth reading the thread that talks about Christmas delivery slots. Apparently Sainsburys announce their dates three weeks before Xmas but they get booked in minutes - might be worth looking at the sainsburys site to see when that is??

Found those dates referred to above - don't quote me on these - please check with the supermarkets - but if you want to order for a delivery close to Christmas, it's worth making a note:

    Sainsburys
Christmas dates released from: 17th November
Last delivery before Christmas: 22nd December

    Ocado
    Christmas dates released from: already
Last delivery before Christmas: all full already I believe

    Tesco

Christmas dates released from: 30th November
Last delivery before Christmas: 23rd December

Waitrose (not Ocado - see above)
    Christmas dates released from: NOW
Last delivery before Christmas: 21st or 22nd possibly

Wonder if my email complaing about how they were delivering to some of Larne town and not to other parts did any good lol  ok probally not.
