cwcw I have just phoned ICESAVE and no problem to get through and the nice guy told me that both have left the accounts and in the sysyem so the chaps transfer should be with my nominated bank at 17.00 .Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the update, it's reassuring.

I reckon my life expectancy has just decreased 5 years after the last 16 hours.

thought regarding the "rejected" transfer - Icesave shows 2 balances - "Processed" and "Cleared". It only lets you transfer up to the amount showing in cleared or else it rejects. I have found this out in the past, and as a result I have about £500 processed but not cleared that I didn't attempt to transfer last night.

I just withdrew mine in the wee hours today via CHAPS and it is showing as processed and withdrawn (took the lot out) but not in my Halifax bank account yet. Hopefully as st has said it should be in there by 17:00?

Can anyone confirm that ICESave will honour this request? Or will my money which is currently being 'processed' be frozen also?

    Many thanks.

  • Hi all -this is my first post. I had £30K in the much vaunted easy access account which I need to pay CGT on a property sale by next Jan. Like some of you I requested a CHAPS transfer to a UK account on Monday evening at around 10.30pm. My Icesave account shows the transaction as having been processed, but the money has not reached my receiving account yet. Just spoke to Icesave again and they say the money is "in the CHAPS system" and I will receive it. They have also refunded the £30 fee, apparently. Has anyone else received their money yet? Cannot relax until I know I have escaped - but heartening to hear UK government promise to compensate fully (up to the £50K limit) all UK savers as it appears Iceland will not.
