Nobody makes you read threads, you can always move along.....

    Thanks op;)

Unnecessary threads ie repeated "news" or comments which could have gone on existing threads still clog the forum without having to open and "read" them.

Does the same apply to BACS? I transferred my main account by CHAPS but also a £4k account by BACS. It shows as being processed and has left the account but with it taking a few days maybe it is less in the middle than with CHAPS. Surely Icesave couldn't nick it back though?

cwcw like you I closed my savings before 08.00 by chaps and the isa by bacs -the savings accouunt has being removed so hopefuly on the way and the isa left with 30p.
we both should be ok -i hope.

ok thanks for that guys. the bank did say it could take upto to around 3pm to go through but obviously im worried with icesave suspending transactions etc. my dad did a chaps at thesame timeas me to move his money but that hasnt gone through at all and is still in his account.. ivealso got an ISA with them that i transfered the normal way to abbey. but i will jsut get the money out in full as soon as i can.

does anyone know what the next step is? is it actually better that its been taken over.is it more secure. and when do u think u can start taking money out on the website again. will anything stop you for getting your money out with it being taken over by the goverment.

That's often the way with CHAPS payments , I wouldn't be alarmed yet, only if it hasn't appeared by 5:00 pm.

FWIW I did a CHAPS payment out of KE yesterday. It hadn't appeared in my account by 7pm, but was there when I checked around 9.30pm.

My quess is that when the bank internet reopens there will be limitations on withdrawals, as long as we all act sensibily we might just get through this.

I'm pretty sure there's zero chance of that...

I imagine there is a massive backlog, with so many people withdrawing, if you initiate CHAPS before midday, it should arrive in the nominated account on the same day.
