    So here's a little update.

I ordered 15 things over two accounts. On saturday I recieved one package which was from my own unique code. this item STILL says processing on my account even though i already have it.

i got the 'dreaded' email asking me to call them to confirm my card details. so i called them saturday and rather than giving the guy my postcode and allowing them to see how many orders i had from the vouchers, i gave them one of my order codes. he checked it out (he was a bit apathic sounding though so prob didnt care too much) i gave them the three nos on the back of my card. 4 of my orders were cancelled by play.com via email rather than the phone coversation.

so i had 4 cancelled orders, some still processing, some sent.

well this morning i get 3 packages. one through regular post, and two through signatures. i got jack and sarah on dvd which is showing up as sent on my account. and 6 books.... one of which is showing up as cancelled on my account!!!

how can play.com cancel an item and still send it?

obviously the manager didnt run fast enough after the post office van as it pulled away!

He's done more than his fair share of exercise for the New Year already!
    (no resolution for him then!)

I spent £32.93, with a saving of £35! "Technically" I saved only £2 each on my 2 copies of Madagascar, as I could've got it for £9.99 elsewhere ... but at £7.99 its all good!!

Not sure if this has already been sent, but I imagine even after what has happened on these (and other) boards, the 75,000 £5 vouchers didnt all get used. And the newspaper probably contributed at leasy 50% to every one used, so they havnt lost as much as it sounds!
  • I got my package this morning, just managed to order it on Thursday before they stopped accepting the vouchers. I'm soooooo pleased as its a ps2 game for my son for christmas.

After standing in hte bank que for 20 mins, I was able to see they have taken all the money out for the orders they didn't cancel (orders show up as 'posted' on the account. However my account still says suspended due to needing to verify my card details.

Fingers crossed they won't refund my money and cancel my orders.

I ordered 4 things with the codes and they have all been sent.

My friend used all the codes and all hers have been sent too, but neither of us used them for items of under £5.

You all knew that what you were doing was wrong, but because you could, you carried on regardless anyway.

Funny, I cant see Play rushing to do another promotion like this now, can you.

How was it wrong? I'm confused how you can make a moral judgement like that. there are ways to stop abuse of these promotions, but like many other things the cost of making it fool proof far outways any loss if the system is abused. Therefore it is expected that abuse will take place. However i don't see what anyone has done is wrong, they got discounts off stuff that prolly 90% of is gonna be given as presents.

In fact i think it's right.

  • I received 2 DVDs today - a spiderman DVD and Meet the Fokkers. I am very pleased with these 2 if I receive any of the other items then it will be a bonus.

I am a happy bunny just having these for £1.99 and £2.99 respectively, thanks OP.
