Oh my Gosh - I've just recieved 9 more emails (over 3 accounts) that say my orders have been posted today! LOL They were supposedly cancelled on Friday evening, but looks like they've somehow slipped through too! Will keep you posted as to whether they arrive, but as I've already recieved 3 'cancelled' orders today it's looking good :)
  • You all knew that what you were doing was wrong, but because you could, you carried on regardless anyway.

Funny, I cant see Play rushing to do another promotion like this now, can you.

I can see them doing it again, BUT learning from their mistakes and using unique codes only!

It has been a success and raied their profile to customers they otherwise never would have had.

These customers will now see that Play are a good site with good customer service levels and generally good on prices too.

Well... I spoke to a member of staff at PLAY whilst verifying my cc details and he said that management were incredibly pleased with the feedback they have recieved and new customer base acquired from this promotion.I'm sure they had expected a certain amount of 'abuse' and loss (of course they had, it would be naive not too) and had factored that into the profits forecast.

It's interesting to see that the moral high ground has been taken again as somebdy always does it. Personally it doesnt bother me and I dont usually rise to the bait but there always seems to be someone saying 'thats wrong but this is ok' it's all down to personal decisions - I dont see what benefit there is of posting a 'that's wrong you naughty children' type post - but hey, each to their own.

the point of a lot of promotions is to simply get publicity or raise the profile of the company. for example those giant meals from iceland for a fiver - they dont actually make a penny profit from them but having them on the tv makes people go in and hopefully buy more. same idea with cheapo cheapo goods from tescos, ya go in and you see how good they are on everything else and therefore buy more. you'll find a lot of 'super' cheap promotions dont make any profit, or are even run at a loss that is chalked up to marketing costs.
