Previous Norton AV products such as 360 most likely would slow your PC down but Norton have spent a lot of time and research correcting that with this product which is suppose to install in a minute and have a very small resource footprint. Most reviews are favourable and confirm this.

However, if it's a free internet security package that you're after why not try the Comodo Internet Security package which i've installed on a couple of PC's and found it to be very good. The Comodo firewall in standalone form certainly stands up very well.
