Great thread,
My new years resolutions are -
Stop smoking - my quit day is next Monday so I'll have a bit of a head start when it comes to the new year
Clear my credit card - currently £1700 outstanding at 0% til Dec 06
Clear my 2 finance agreements - Car is easy as this ends in April. I also need to get a settlement figure for the other agreement.
Clear the clutter in the house and sell unwanted stuff on ebay - no buying until at least June
Do more housework as DH does most of the cooking / tidying at the moment

Debt free: 6th April 06 :T Proud to have dealt with my debts0 -
Hey Ms London
Hopefully we will be debt free in April 2006. Then we plan to buy a conservatory (been saving towards this with surplus grocery/petrol money each month), need a newer car and have some savings in the bank...all by the end of the year..LOL. Well its our goal anyway!
I would also like to not be ill anymore, but would say thats more of a dream..LOL. Im also doing my degree through the OU to keep my brain active, mum always has said "use it or loose it". So really want to complete this and feel Ive achieved something, except from sitting indoors 24/7.
Penny-Pincher!!

This is a great thread.
Well, as we got our inheritance through (bye bye debt, hello new cars, xmas paid for etc etc) this means we can start the New Year in the position of being debt free with ££££s in the bank!!
My new year's resolution money wise is to live within our means (in terms of our salaries) this means no credit cards and saving for what we want first!! OH doesn't want to touch a BIG chunk of our inheritance - previously we would have spent the lot!!
I know we're lucky to be in the position we are (although obviously we'd rather have FIL still here & be in debt!) and we're NOT going to mess it up!!!!!!!
I've also got other resolutions:
1) To lose around half a stone
2) To be more organised and disciplined in terms of housework etc
3) To cook from scratch more often (best for us and our pockets!!)
Best of luck to all of you with your resolutions!!!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Hello all,
Just a quick slightly off topic point. Quite a few have mentioned doing stuff to their hair and as a hairdressing student, your local college is probably crying out for models where you will be charged a v small amount for virtually anything you want doing and you'll be helping people like me get better!
Also anyone that wants perms should try to as they're getting rarer and its hard to learn them now as we're all fighting over the few we get.
Thanks! Now get back to your resolutions xQuit smoking 18/08/070 -
but I know I will clear that credit card that I wanted to clear by the end of this year..ok I know I didn't hit my target but I will clear it DEFINITELY by the end of June 2006....
Also want to halve the balance at least of hubby's Tesco card by the end of the year, currently standing at £3000.
I know these sound like small targets but if we can do this whilst still reducing our other debts I will be a happy bunny come 31/12/06.2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.
Overpayment to date : £310

The first thing is to visit this site more often!!
I'm starting a new job on the 12th December (4k more than what i'm earning now!!! Wooohoooo!!) Won't be getting paid till 10th Jan tho! (!!!!!!). But once I do I'm going to sit down and work out all my debts and how much of the money i'm earning i'm going to throw at Them. I owe around 12k but hopefully this will be gone within 3-4 years. With the support of this site I'm sure me and other readers will clear their debts faster next year!!
Another thing is to stop letting stooooopid men walk all over me (a different story!)
Good luck everyone!

I think I am keeping with the fairly popular themes of money and weight.

Maybe the two are linked - inability to control what we take out of our purses and what we put in our mouths.
Money-wise - I would like to spend 2006 living within my means and as a result, making a serious dent in my debt.
I would also like to stick to healthy eating and regular exercising. Not at the gym; I have finally realised after a few years and £££££££s of wasted subscription money that I do not enjoy the gym so I intend to get back into squash and dancing. These I cannot do at the moment cos I'm too unfit
.
Brill topic Ms London :T :T
Good luck to each and everyone of you with your resolutions!!!! :T :T :TProud to be dealing with my debts
