Admin charge to renew lease

  • Our letting agents must have been a lot fairer. They said that we would be charged £50 if we wanted to renew our 6 month tenancy agreement, but there was no charge to just carry on as a rolling agreement with a month's notice either side.

Hmm well I'm hoping that's the case for us. They've listed 2 options, move out or pay the fee & be stuck for 12 months. I'm going to tell them I want it to roll & see what bizarre fee they come up with for that. I hate LAs!!!!:mad:
The only thing worse than smug married couple; lots of smug married couples.
  • Ours have made £120 off us for renewing twice - :(

    no... month on month
    I believe...
  • Our letting agent/landlord (its a letting company that owns the property not a private landlord) wants £150 plus VAT to renew our contract which seems extortionate. They say we agreed to fees in the contract (which we weren't allowed to see until we'd paid the initial admin fees which were a few hundred quid). They have now agreed to let us go on a month by month rolling contract but I think they might still want the fee. Going to contact them when they reopen after new year.
