  • Hi, just to let you know that Banff is amazing, we stayed at the above hotel and it was fabulous, if you aren't staying there it is worth just going to have a look, you will love it!

I was too going to mention the Banff Fairmont Springs hotel.. book now for a Sunday brunch, yes book now as it is wonderful and is always fully booked way early.
We stayed in Banff last July had a great time, this place and Whistler were my highlights of the Canadian Rockies.

We stayed at the Fox Inn and Suites in July - one of the newest hotels and can recommend it.

It's worth noting that most of the hotels and quite a lot of the restaurants in Banff are owned by the same company. You can get a 'dine around' pass and settle your bill at the hotel you are staying at.

Where do you want to hire your car from? Airport (which?) or Banff?

I would say Avis - book on the UK website and the insurance is fully comp with £0 excess. Use a discount code (one you are entitled to - there are plenty to choose from).

Whilst in Banff it is unlikely you will need a car other than from and to the airport which i guess you may use Calgary and for a visit to Lake Louise so why not think of rental just for that arrive next day got to Lake Louise then return rental car if possible in Banff then rerent for the return back to the airport.
Might save you a pound or two especially if all that will happen during the other period is its paid to be parked up at your hotel.
    Just a thought
