I want to move my ISP from Waitrose to O2. This means moving email address from Waitrose. What's the best way to do this? Should I change email address to, say, googlemail, then when I am sure no-one is using my Waitrose email move to O2. How do others manage the change? Advice please.

Your best bet is using something like Google Mail permanently then you wouldn't have to keep changing whenever you change ISP0

Use your old address to email everyone you know to tell them of your new address.
After that just use the new address.0 -
It's not the easiest thing to do is it?!0

Nessie you're quite right! I have to change my email address registered with various organisations such as utilities, banks, shops, newsletters. This involves logging in to their website, navigating to the email change page and updating it. I have at least 100 to do and that's the ones I know about. Very time consuming! Personal contacts are much easier though.
Last time I changed ISP I went from cable to ADSL so I was able to keep both addresses open for a couple of months till I was happy I had changed them all.

you may be able to still use your Waitrose address when you are using O2 - quite a lot of ISPs allow this somehow, but there are some that don't0

i used to be with waitrose , but changed to a different isp
i have a gmail account which is excellent
you can access your waitrose account online for 35 days( i think) unless you have closed it down , if you have any problems ask them if you can reacivate it
you may be able to export your contacts to your new account0 -
perhaps if you therefore downgrade the account to pay as you go, just sign in every 35 days then and it will stay active ... no harm in asking them though!0

Get your own domain, Fredbear.co.uk ?, then you can change ISP every week if you desire and keep the same e-mail address. You can then have fred@fredbear.co.uk as your personal address, your OH can have mrsfred@fredbear.co.uk.
You can then give everyone you deal with their own e-mail address, ie: mse@fredbear.co.uk. If you start getting spam addressed to mse@fredbear.co.uk:-
1.You know who has "given" your address to spammers
2.You put a block on that one address
3.If you wish to continue dealing with that company, give them a new address, ie:- mse2@fredbear.co.uk0 -
Thanks to everyone who replied. I have set up a Googlemail account and am looking into the domain route for the future.
