Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker
Just sitting down trying to write the list for the Boots evening on Wednesday. I know there is 1000 points for a £50 spend but I also want to maximise any voucher use. As the TS and pinkies cannot be used on 342 gift sets this cuts down my options!
Think i will get two Estee Lauder items and the GWP , use a fragrance voucher to get a cheapish present for someone, use a half price mens No7 to get a gift set (?) or do 342 and the GWP. Depending on what the till sees as the total spend this will be enough for the £50 spend.
I can then use some till spits to get a few No7 items for next to nothing!

thanks i'll have to remember some of those! my actual reason for having so many is because i have a one year old so i was buying nappies and wipes in £5 lots so i would get the vouchers. i still have some left to spend but i think i'll go to a different boots with then next!

Or, to deal a killer blow based on financial facts:

Count out all of your pinkies and tillspits carefully in front of her, multiply the total by 5 and say:

"It's because I've spent AT LEAST £x.00 in Boots in the past couple of weeks. OTHER STORES might see that as being a 'valued customer'. How does this store's management see it?"

Give her a blankly innocent smile as you wait for her to flounder her way to a reply...

    Well, suggestions for come-backs....

"Yes, it's because I'm employed by Head Office to go round and shop at all the branches to check up on staff traing."

    "Yes, I'm the boss's wife."

"Yes, I spend at least £1000 a week here for stuff for my three care homes. I must be one of your top customers."

"Yes, there's a couple of thousand of them blowing round the car park."

"Yes, I take them in part payment for services rendered." (Better smile at this one...)

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: loving these V_S... thanks!!! :T

I used both tillspit and pinkie in one transaction today on SS - for the first time ever:D when I scanned the first voucher, the till asked me to put item in bagging area. But as soon as I inserted the voucher in the slot, the message went away. However, when I scanned the second voucher, the till asked me to put item in bagging area again. I inserted the second voucher and the message disappeared again:confused:

    <snip>

I smiled a little reading this part of your post. I have a loooong history of messing up ss tills at tesco and asda because I keep putting 'unexpected items in the bagging area'. These include:

    - damp umbrella (while I searched for a hidden barcode on a bulky item)
    - purse (not recommended from a security point of view)
    - DS (don't ask!)
    - belt from my jacket (that heavy?!)
    - 'green' re-usable carrier bag
    - shoulder bag, dangling from shoulder while I placed eggs carefully in 'green' carrier bag (which SA had just authorised)

I'm quite tempted to go to an ss till which INVITES me to put something on the bagging area :rotfl: :rotfl:

    HTH ;)

Sorry to sound really really thick, but having never used a ss till what is the bagging area and why does the till ask you to put vouchers in it please? :embarasse

    snipped....
before i left the sa said to me 'you've got a lt of vouchers haven't you where are you getting them all from' i spend good money in there to get the vouchers and then they say something like that! but at least i got everything i wanted in the end just a bt of a faff to get it all!
Wipe imaginary pink ink from your fingers and tell SA "You might want to blow on those vouchers a minute, they're still wet" ;)

Not so hot on all this bargain hunting still!! Some advice please - I know there are lists on here, but just wondering if ppl can state the main london stores with ss tills - hoping to buy 342 no. 7 skincare total cost £20 (after 342 discount) with pinkie and ts - taking it down to £10. Is this likely to work???

    mini glitch??

I got some meal deals - usual sandwiches, drinks and snack combo. I then spied the cadbury tubes at 2 for £2 so grabbed a milk bar one and buttons one (about 100g or so each?). Well the total I paid wasn't what I expected.
    Should have been £2.99 x 2 plus £2 so £7.98.

But the cadbury buttons got included in one of the meal deals!! it then took off 78p for the other cadburys linking them both together somehow.

Then I got charged for the cheapest snack as separate.

I can't find the receipt now but I think I only ended up paying an extra 30 odd pence to get the 2nd large tube of cadburys!!
