i posted this in a thread of its own but have been directed to you experts in this thread!

does anyone know how to work out the best way to get the most savings from these 3 for 2 deals on christmas presents?
we have been talking about it but cant get my head round how to save the most money?
i know the cheapest is free but there a method to save money buy grouping certain prices together and going a few times to the till like buying the most expensive together or the cheapest together etc etc
    hope you can understand!
    any thoughts?

The till should automatically group the products together from highest to lowest price, regardless of the order in which they are scanned. So every third item, from highest to lowest price would be free IYSWIM. Have a play around on dot.com and you can see how it groups together the products in your basket.

If you plan to spend £50 or more there are shopping evenings later this month, where you will get £10 in points back for every £50 spend. If you post your location, i'm sure someone can tell you the date your local store will be running this shopping evening.

Whatever way you do it, you need to get 3 things at the same price to get the best savings but if yu take them all to the till, it will automatically give you the right saving

    EG

    3 x £20 gifts, 3 X £10 gifts 3 x £5 gifts

The till would charge you £40, £20 and £10 - giving you a £20 gift free, £10 gift free and £5 gift free - it wouldn't take off the 3 £5 ones as free if you see what I mean.

There's no point getting a gift cheaper than the lowest price - so say you only wanted 2 things - 1 @£30 and one @£18 - make sure you find yourself an £18 gift for free, don't get a £10 one - does that make sense?
Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak

Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help

    excellent.
so basically try to group the items around the same price and only buy 3 at a time.
    thanks for that!
    mmmm free stufffffffff :p
  • Did a great shop today

I had bought an expensive eye cream from one of the make up counters and a perume and got a GWP. I have actually really been regretting it and felt a bit talked into it at the time. Anyway, I tried the samples in the GWP and my skin flared up so I took the eye cream back today - boxed and still in cellophane and unopened , to the main tills and they agreed to exchange it for anything. So - £29 credit - went and got 3 X £15 Xmas gifts and got 2 of the UG hair treatment sets for £6. Total savings £29.98 plus the £29 refund

Paid £7, got a pinkie and the machine gave me 144 points even though the £29 was a refund!

Result - I was very nice and polite though and agreed that they didn't normally take cosmetics back but since it was boxed and clearly unopened................

There was a Joint Ace joint patch with a SEL of 1p today, which you are supposed to get free with any purchase of pain relief - or from a certain selection.
But it went through with my purchases no problem.
Thought you might like to know ;)

Obsessing about remortgaging and interest rates all day, every day:)

    I am confused now:confused: I was planning to do 2 transactions, 1, a £40 £30 & £30 and 2,a £15 £8 & £8. I assumed that if I put it all through together it would take off the 2 lowest price items.

AFAIK the till would give you the £30 item and the £8 item free if you put all 6 items through at once. It does online. x

  • Hi everyone,

Sorry of this has been asked before but can anyone tell me if this combination has been tried and worked before:-

I have a No7 pinkie and a PC £5 off when you spend £20 on No7/RM and a 500 points when you buy No7 Instant Radiance Brush Foundation acm and I wondered if I brought the foundation at £13.25, a No7 eyeliner for £7 and another item for £7 or under (making it free on a 3 for 2) then I could I use all my vouchers and get all three items for £10.25 and get 500 points back too?
I have been toying with idea of trying to get the foundation, No7 Extreme Length Mascara at £12.00 (along with the free GWP smokey eye palette) and another item worth £12 (free on the 3 for 2) or less and pay £15.25 for all 4 items and get back 500 points too but am not sure if either combination will work and really would like some advice before I try it as I am getting to the stage where I think I am being watched when I keep loitering around the No7 stand trying to work up the courage to try the combinations IYSWIM.
    Many thanks in advance....

Hiya this is a quick question to anyone who may work at boots. I have a job interview for boots next Friday and it says I have to go on shop floor and have an 'assesment', I was just wondering if anyone could tell me anything about what this entails etc, as I am really really scared.

If you have it may be better to PM me. Thank you in advance
