New Oscott near Sutton Coldfield have one.We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -
Great Tip. Being paying loads for my specs for years. Now, one free sight test + plus clubcard points. Was going to take prescription to my old opticians in Oxford, but specs were suprisingly good. Got a pair of Armani specs and a pair of nice rimless specs, both with scratch coat, one with anti glare coat and all for £140!!! Plus clubcard points again.
They came through in 3 days and are spot on. If anyone is in Abingdon/Oxford area, the Abingdon Tescos is spot on.0 -

Yes your eye test would be the same as any other optician.
There are 2 payment methods for eye tests. Private and NHS. Private is where you pay for yourself and NHS is where the NHS pay for you (i.e. under 16, over 60, on income support etc)
NHS rules don't allow for points to be awarded for something the NHS pays for so if you have a test on the NHS you won't get your points. You could just have a free eye test but if the NHS gave you money towards your glasses (due to low income for example) you wouldn't be able to claim. This isn't Tesco being awkward its the rules.
Subject to availablity means if they haven't go any eye tests left and they are fully booked up till the end of the offer - tough!!0 -
Got a test booked for tomorrow:jIf you board the wrong train, it is no use running along the corridor in the other direction.

I didn't see the free test email until I'd had my regular test done in Boots... but as there is glaucoma in my family & I'm now over 40 (:o) I don't pay anyway....
However, I DID go & get my glasses from Tesco - our local store has just closed for a refurb so had sent OH a double points voucher + £6 off £60 shop, he also had a £5 off voucher and the glasses were on BOGOF, so 2 pair of designer reading glasses (work & home)+ double points + finance points (on OH Tesco c/c) + £40 contribution from my employer = one happy Floss! Just waiting for them to come in & the store to reopen for fitting0 -
Just booked my test, its only free if you purchase glasses on the same day, otherwise it £10 a test0

Had my eye test done today but they didn't give me my prescription... i told them I was short of time after the test but really wanted to escape them as I was hoping to get my glasses from glassesdirect.co.uk... I think I'll go back tomorrow and insist, but what should I do if they don't want to give me my prescription??0

They don't have a choice. The law says they must give you your prescription.
You should get a bargain at Glasses Direct as they sell their goods at a loss, and have never made a profit.Been away for a while.0
