Surfer and Apeman. You sound just like an advert.

Funny how many people register just to tell you about the latest entrant to the already crowded online glasses suppliers market.

Just what I thought. Is this spam?
  • just to reiterate what has already been said in this thread - you must be given your prescription and you can go anywhere to have your glasses made. your prescription also lasts two years before you have to have another sight test done. Personally I need my eyes tested as it's more than two years, so this is a welcome offer and tesco have a basic range of specs starting at £20 including lenses, so similar prices to online with p&p!!!
  • I bought a pair of FOSTERGRANT reading glasses (+1.50) from Poundland yesterday. The model is called HARDY. My OH tells they look horrible on me, but for reading they're all right. On FG's website the same ones costs £9.99 so I'm quite happy.

Thankyou OP for this post, OH and I went to our local Tesco this morning to make an appointment and they weren't busy and did our tests there and then. My husband was in there for ages and it turns out that the tests show he may have Glaucoma (I read the letter to our GP) he had new glasses just 2yrs ago but now has a 'blind spot' in his vision and high pressure.. Hopefully a hospital app will be quick and treatment started if indeed it proves to be correct.. fingers crossed that it proves otherwise.. but at least he will be getting the right treatment.. so thanks again

  • Will they give me 100 points for my children too? That would be 100 x 3 x 4 = £12!

The other thing with this is that Tesco fit them on you correctly.
I have used online places to buy specs and have had mixed results with the workmanship.
However the last pair I paid £25 in Tesco. I knew how they felt on and they were fitted correctly when they arrived in store 3 days later.

Thanks for the tip I was due to book an eye test at my local opticians.

I had no problem getting an appointment.
