If you do it yourself, one of the best pieces of advice is when removing a battery always undo the earth terminal first, and when fitting the new one connect the earth terminal last. If you don't, you only have to short out between the positive terminal and the car bodywork once to know that it gets very hot very quickly!0

just got back from garage - cost £50, fitted free.:T Many thanks to all who replied, as without your guidance on price, i doubt my nerves would have enabled me to get to gargage in first place - i am a bit of a worrier!!0

Was it an 063 type? You can buy those for about £25-30.
