No Broadband Capacity at Exchange

I have signed up for broadband, but have been told that the BT exchange "has not got spare capacity at the moment". The ISP tells me that they have contacted BT & have been told to contact them again next week for a further update on the problem.
Is there anything I can do to "encourage" BT to pull their fingers out? It's not as if broadband is new, they surely realised that capacity was nearing maximum!
Thanks
Mike

As no one has responded, the only thing I can think of is to check the status of your exchange at Broadband Resource, to see if/when any new equipment is being installed...

If they've been told to contact them again in a week, I would guess BT are up to something...

SamKnows.com's exchange checker isn't much use anymore as its way out of date. Hasn't been updated since August (at least for the exchanges I check).
Use an alternative checker (some ISP's offer this). eg try here:- http://usertools.plus.net/exchanges/0 -
Thanks for the advice. My ISP has now contacted me to tell me I go live from 29/11/05 ?? This is after the date they were told to contact BT but I don't care now as I am "broadbanded".
Thanks again.
