Just ordered my PAC code from vodafone retentions because of the rubbish upgrade deal they offered, do they always ring a couple of days later with a better offer?

I hope so, as I really want to stay on the same tariff and keep my number

If anyone could confirm or deny this it would be great

thanks

make sure they also give you a network unlock code if your phone was from them - it took me ages after the event to get mine (its all free though if 12 months onward after start of original contract)
you can go to payg with say 02 or orange and take your no with you. I did exactly this and am saving pounds - free sims free bolt ons etc

Matter of interest - What was the deal you were on and what did they offer you? Reason I ask is that I'm just about to contact them for a better tarriff as I have 4 phones coming to the end of their pay monthly contracts.

I'm on an old singlepoint tariff...600 off peak mins (not cross network) for £10.20. Been on it for about 5 years. They offered me a free Sony Ericson v600i (which is free anyway) and a bluetooth earpiece. IF I sign up to an 18 month contract!

Hardly an incentive to commit to 18 months. About 4 months a go they offered me 40% off my line rental plus a free phone, but I said I would think about it, and some family issues meant I forgot to ring back. Now they say they have been told they are not allowed to do the really good upgrade deals anymore. I Should have phoned back originally!

Don't worry they will bombard you with calls. I was on contract with Vodafone for 7 years until last month. My need for a phone has changed and I really only use text messages so I switched to the O2 £10 / 300 texts. I was getting at least 1 call a day for a month and I even got a call from a market research company who are contacting ex Vodafone customers to find out why they have left Vodafone. Also, 2 of my friends have left Vodafone for teh same reason as me and they were also bombarded with calls.

The best thing to do is decide what you want from Vodafone and if you can find another company that is offering it tell Vodafone you want that and nothing less. Someone I work with has just got a contract with O2 offering 200 minutes any time / network, 600 texts, a new phone and a free mini ipod for £19 a month.

The best offer that Vodafone came up with for me was £15 a month, 100 minutes and 200 texts. I was tempted but to be honest I have really had to cut back on my spending so I am happy knowing that my bill each month is £10 and no more as I was finding with Vodafone.

I had to request my PAC code 3 times before they finally sent me the details and O2 happily transferred my exisiting number.

Good luck and I hope this helped.

been almost a week now, the PAC code arrived, but vodafone haven't phoned. Very annoyed as they rang my brother within 48 hours of him asking for a PAC code. I have a much higher average monthly spend than him too!

Why don't you contact them? You've told them you want to leave, and perhaps they've accepted that.

I get the hint that they want you to leave or at least change tariff, i have a 100 mins 50 texts for £15 a month and when i phoned to upgrade i was offered a basic motorola with vgs camera but original contract taken out was with a samsung d500 1.3 mp so offering my a lower spec phone than what i have and insisting that i take out an 18 month contract:mad: im just waiting on the phone i want to become available and see the comparisons and see if vodafone can match or are just uninterested
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I used to be on the Singlepoint deal mentioned above, and when it came to an end about 3 years ago,Vodafone offered me 1000 off peak minutes for £11.99,which,because of a change in my personal circumstnces,I only changed last month for a x-net deal with 3.

I now have 750 x-net,and 150 texts for £16 per month, after redemption, but Vodafone did ring me and try to keep me,but when I told the very nice lady what I had been offered, she said they couldn't match it.

Oh.And I ported my number which I've had for ages now, foc.

    Ken.
That's my mutt in the picture above.
