In my Aldi they do the plain turkey crown for £12.99, but last week they were being rung through the till at £8.99!

I have never bought a turkey crown before. I assume it is purley the breast of the bird without the legs, so it's less hassle to cut up when cold?

We don't have an Aldi near us. Do Tesco do one, or Somerfield (can be expensive!). Are crowns more expensive per £ than whole turkeys, as presumably you get more meat?

Any comments would be much appreciated.

    thanks

try your local butcher for meat all year round.

Aw Kippers thankyou, I've been looking forward to one of these for weeks now, then when I saw the OP I thought oh no they won't be in yet. They are so nice & tasty. Am I right in thinking you just pop them in the oven from frozen. Wonder if we should get 1 for a taste test & 1 for Xmas. I like the one with maple something. ( again memory is rubbish).

I have cooked Turkey Crowns for years. They are lovely and there is absolutely no waste, I wouldn't go back to a normal Turkey.

You can get really small ones or huge ones and they take up much less space in the oven.

Sorry i didn't reply earlier. You need to defrost the turkey crown first.
