Hi! I read the article here.

I think I get the idea of it, but can someone explain an up to date way for me to save on the 40p/min x network calls? I don't want to have to pay up front that's the only thing!

Cheers all! Much appreciated.

Are you on Payg or Contract on O2. Have you only got own network and 01/02 minutes or have you got any x-net minutes available. Are you on an E&W Tariff or an all day one.

if you use onetel as an over ride it gives you a london number to dial, then you pay whatever it costs to phone a landline and onetel will bill you for the extra

I over ride to onetel and then use a second over ride to reduce the cost again, as onetel charges about 15p a min to Russia, but other provides charge 1p to russia. You end up dialling about 30 numbers, but Nokia's and probably others can be programmed to dial more than one number at once

    Hope this makes sense

I am on O2 PAYG, and I'm on the TalkALot with Messages (Top up £10 and get 300 (?) free messages), no minutes of any kind.
    Cheers!

    1. You can get a free 50 minutes x-net Bolt on at the moment for 3 months.Must claim it by early Jan 06.
    2. At evening and weekends the tariff you are on allows you to call 0844 numbers 10p evenings 5p weekends.(Expensive Peak!) You can therefore use the https://www.abroadtel.co.uk 0844 mobile access no to make x-net calls at these rates. If you use this service you will need to enter the UK mobile Number in full intl format.
3.You could also register for https://www.18185.co.uk and use their 020 mobile access number, bear in mind that 01/02 calls are charged at 25p a min for first 3 mins on 02.18185 would charge 4p connection, and 10p a minute peak and evenings,2p at weekend. So after first 3 minutes calls would be costing you 5p o2 plus 10p 18185 =15p a min plus connection charge.Cheaper at weekend.

Ok, so it seems that I need to dial UNITED KINGDOM (to mobile) 0844 452 00 05 5 into my mobile and then the mobile number that I want to call.

So then it will cost me (At the weekend) 5p + 5p from O2 = 10p / min instead of 40p? That sounds like a good deal to me!

Apart from that, how do I opt into the free Bolt on? Cheers!

You know if you don't use all those messages you should consider switching to the "calls and messages" tariff - you get 100 units instead - each unit is worth 1 x-net minute or 1 message.

You can swtich by calling 2202 (option 2) :T

A good thought there Gizmo, but I do use them all! I could possibly get away with the extra 50 mins, but I would like to call my friends a bit more than texting them...

No it only costs you 5p at weekends which you pay o2. Abroadtel dont charge you personally for call.

    Bolt ons available from http://www.o2.co.uk/joiningtreats

    Existing customers can claim them!
