  • Good evening, owls, a question for you? Is it really, really, really bad that I've just finished off half a bottle of wine and I am desperate for a beer or something else? Almost makes me miss the last guy in my life who used to come over with a crate at 2 in the morning, until I remember what a player he was.

    In a word...yes..

sorry ruby, but drinking a lot ain't big or clever.....

when I was younger, I drank loads until I went off it, then stopped altogether very soon after. It's amazing how much better you feel when you don't drink any more. That was 22 years ago and I honestly don't miss it one bit :)

  • Hey Jack, I used to drink a hell of a lot in first and second year of uni. I'm talking amounts I can't even stomach to think about (10 double vodkas in a night) and it wasn't big or clever. Now I consider myself to have over done it if I have 5 or 6 beers, or in the case of wine, more than 1 bottle. I used to have a problem with alcohol, I just used it for the wrong reasons. I sometimes still get pangs to use it as a crutch (like now I am feeling a little lonely) I would like to think I have a good handle on it for the most part.

10 double vodkas - lightweight ;) just before I went off it that would've been the warm-up..no kidding.

seriously, it's good that you're over the problem and are down to what you drink now. It really never helps/solves anything, no matter how low you feel...it's a depressant after all.

Anyhoo...you've got the wonderful peeps on here now to moan to/sound off at/whinge/cry/laugh....much better therapy than booze, and it saves ya money to boot :D

  • Yep, that is true. Well done for stopping yourself, though! You have a good sleep, I'll probably be up a while longer, drank way too much coffee again today.

  • I'm still up, hope your washing's finished. My also insomniac housemate gave me a couple of links to some funny sites to keep me amused till I crash out.
