Bad day in the house of 'Jack today....trying not to smoke....we were both irritable, shouty and generally a bit poo...kids didn't help, as it seemed to amplify the sound of their voices Did only have about 5 all day though

Good luck on trying to quit, Jack, what you down from? I'm a smoker myself, been on baccy for about a month to cut costs coz things just don't seem to work for me without nicotine.

Heh, doomcow, never read harry potter, was put off of it by all the hype, will wait till all the movies are done and dusted before I pick up the book.

I'll tell you what you should never drink on, champix, my god did I do some stupid stuff on that. Plus it made me depressed, but it did stop me smoking for 3 and a half months.

everyone seems to love this champix - but just go cold turkey and change behaviour - its hard but its not meant to be easy - like rocky beating apollo - in it for the challenge!

You should in a new thread, lots of people here know a lot of stuff about where you can cut down. I see you are getting married, my best mate is getting married in two weeks, I can't wait. First wedding that I've ever been to. Scary thing is she is exactly a day younger than me and seems to have her personal life so much more sorted out. Me, I just have three lads that treat me like their mother (well actually SP does, but I don't mind doing stuff for him)

call me ruby or Heidi, well, I've tried cold turkey and I can never get past the first three days. The champix was good as in it stopped me smoking but my god did it make me depressed, really really badly depressed.

I will read it eventually, I have a very long to-read list.

hanx dc, ruby, but it's a major step after us being on 20-30 a day (depending on circumstances).....maybe tomorrow will be better

Why the SOA ?? just to try and cut back where you can towards the big day ?? If you do decide to post it, be prepared for many differing views on what you could do/how you should approach it...

Well done, Jack. I was on 20 normal cigs a day, but I think I am down to 15 on the roll ups. Though that goes out the window if I stay up late, like tonight.

Drinking plenty of water is one thing I was told and seemed to work.

think I've missed something here...was champix the supposed wonder-drug for quitting ?? BUt the side effect is depression ?? looks like it's willpower alone in that case....
