Help - Need to rotate text in word

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me here. I hope this makes sense but I neeed to be able to read text the whole way round the border of a page. I have put a text box along the top of the page with the text reading as normal, next I have put another text box down the length of the right hand side with the text rotated 90°. The text then needs to be upside down along the bottom of the page and then up the left hand side. I have also managed to do the left hand text box but the bottom bit is where I have the problem. Does anyone know how I can get the text to rotate 180° or in other words go upside down. If I use a text box I can't rotate it. If I use an autoshape with a textbox inside the autoshape can rotate but the text stays the normal way up.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated?

With the text box highlighted there is an option under the 'Format' menu at the top, of 'Text Direction'

Thanks - I tried that but it only gave me the option of normal - rotated 90° and rotated 270° - not 180° i.e. upside down.0 -
Erm there's a long way round that will work....
Type in the text you want to appear upside down in word.
Press "Print Screen" on your keyboard.
Open Paint. (Start > Programs > Accessories > Paint)
Edit > Paste.
A screen grab of the word screen will now be in paint.
Then use the selection tool to select the upside down text.
Edit > Copy
Go back into word and paste in the image of the upside down text.If you're feeling down, you must be holding a duck.0 -
Why not put the text in to word art ?, you can then move it and format how you like .I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

Thanks Mynamesnotdave and CISBoth ways worked and to be honest I never even thought of using Wordart - I think this way does look better.0

If you copy the Text Box and then Paste Special and choose a format that is anything other than MS Office Drawing Object then you'll be able to flip the pasted version around as if it were a picture.0

Just out of interest, I tried what you suggested. After Paste Special you get the Picture toolbar which hasn't got a rotate option. Selecting the pasted image does not give the rotate option either at bottom left of screen.
Any suggestions?0 -
You don't use the Picture toolbar. The pasted image has a little green circle which you left-click and move the mouse to rotate it.robjo2 wrote:Grover
