British Gas - Click energy 5

Well guys, I thought I would update...
I called BG today and asked why they hadn't notified me that the prices were due to go up the day after I switched tariffs and they told me that they find out about increases at the same time we do?! Anyway, it turns out that Click energy 6 is now cheaper than Click Energy 5. There are no fees to join or pull out of either so if I were you, I'd call them to see if it is cheaper for you and switch asap! I also asked if the prices on CE6 were due to go up shortly and he told me it was a brand new tariff that they had brought out when CE5 prices increased.
To be honest though, I'm pretty mad with them and may even change suppliers. E-On seem to have a good tariff, I will get my nectar points AND they seem to be big on customer service.0 -

), how about following this suggestion?

Whilst that thread suggests transferring to SP, the basic principle still holds whoever you switch to. Quidco currently pay £30 for a dual fuel switch to Eon allowing you to get a further £30 off moneysupermarket.com for switching back to BG assuming you've not used them before and no better offers are available elsewhere if/when you actually come to switch back to BG to take advantage of their possible lower prices."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
I had an email from BG this monday.....
'Unfortunately, we had to increase your prices on 30 September 2008. So for a home with average usage, Click Energy 5 gas prices have risen on average by 42% and electricity on average by 21%.'
I only switched a few months ago - can i simply switch again this time to click 6 or am i held to a minimum term with click 5 ?0 -
can i simply switch again this time to click 6
Yes, I was told you can go and do it on-line.
My supply hasn't been transferred yet, so I can't do it until I get my account details.0 -
i only changed about 4 weeks ago have had change confirmed by phone but no paper work and definately not been informed of increase0

I got the email advising me of the price rises today (though the rise took effect on 30th September).
A quick look at the energyhelpline comparison site told me that the only tariff which would be cheaper for me was Click Energy 6, so I've just changed over.
That was easy!0 -
I got the email today, but heard at the beginning of last week that Click Energy 6 was now available and that Click Energy 5 had been increased. I changed my tarrif to Click energy 6 last week online:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

I got the email too I deleted it by accident. I am suppose to be on essential tariff though due to my disabled spouse
I though prices weren't going up until April 09
I bet prices go down in Spring when demand is down assuming oil prices remain low0 -
Savemoney - call/email them and check the prices. Off the top of my head I'm not sure if Essentials is chepaer than Click 6, but you couldn't be on both (unless gas was one and elec the other). The price freeze was for Essentials only, not Click.0
