phone problems

orange motorolla v500 my dad wants to use, ive just had it unlocked but when i put an 02 sim it knows its an 02 sim but it says unregistered sim (tried my contract one and 2 payg ones)

ive tried OH virgin sim,again it knows its virgin and it finds the network but when i try and ring the phone it says cannot put you through to this number, when i try and ring out it says call failed.

even tried an old vodaphone sim, but it does same as above


Any ideas why cant get the phone to work?

it sounds like its been barred? i had an unlocked phone once which recognised all the sims but would not dial out, turned out it was barred (i got it off ebay) does the original sim still work in it?

if it is barred (blacklisted) it doesnt matter how long you search, noone will unblock it as its illegal to do so now-itll be useless-it may not be though, it depends where you got it and if it was working before you got it unlocked, if its registered to you, call the original network and ask them why its been barred.
