Yes, it's been talked about no end. There is more than 1 active thread about Iceland. So I find this one quite unnecessary. Cut out the scaremongering, unless you actually want a run on the Icelandic banks?Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

I warned of this last week in a previous thread.I got shot down by a few posters for scaremongering but I decided to close all my Icesave accounts this week. I just can't see why anyone would want all the hassle of the joint compensation schemes in place.
Icelandic banks also took a huge hit when XL Airways went bust ! Your all grown up enough to make your own decisions on this one.0 -

I didn't claim to be. But opening endless threads on Iceland's most certain doom is, in my opinion, scaremongering.
If you read the FAQs it tells you to check whether your question/comment has already been posted. I'd advise you to try it.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Everytime I see Peston on the TV he reminds me of Peter Sellers doing his Richard 111, I see a disillusioned actor lurking there.

No, they'll be too busy queueing outside banks, for the 9 o'clock opening to withdraw their cash!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

I liked Andy Hamilton's comment on Radio 4's News quiz: Robert Peston sounds like a Dalek doing an impression of Kenneth Williams... and this whole global financial crisis has been stimulated by Peston as a career move!0 -

I listened very carefully to the money programme at 12Noon today when they were talking about Icelandic banks having problems. It seems that Icesave in particular could have a problem and what made it worse was that investors were not able to log in to the site. It's been fixed now. It was an article in The Telegraph that started it all. On the programme they did say that Kaupthing's correct name is Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander and has the same guarantee i.e. £35k as UK banks and that savers (like me) should feel secure. I will see what is reported in The Sunday Times tomorrow. The site is working as normal.0
