getting crayon marks off walls? Help!

Hi, my wonderful son (!) has just decorated our cream walls with thick red crayon. I have tried everything to get it off, but am left with a pink, blurred swirly mess now. Short of repainting the whole room, does anyone please have a tip on how I might get his artwork off? Thanks in advance, Penny
