am i doing something wrong?

a friend gave me a mobile number 07929 ***** to use with my x-net monthly minutes from any mobile network [incl 3] & it seems to be linked into the simply-fone network meaning i can make international calls like the s-fone product but from any network not just o2/orange

i have got first bill & it works... :j

***I have edited out the full number as it is source unknown, thank you

As its a Orange number presumably all those folks who have got free evening calls on Orange payg will be able to use it as well,to make Intl and NGN number calls. ;)

Someone is obviously piggy backing an Orange Number on to a SF 07744 number.(As you get the SF announcement).Whats in it for them i dont know? Although it will give SF more traffic, they dont wanna fall out with Orange.

Pre-Dial use to do a similar thing (Not to SF). Orange barred their numbers for life.

dont think its sf themselves... but could it be an agent trying to benefit as u mentioned?

would it be useful for sf to 'bar' this orange number then ?

I am not suggesting for one minute that SF are behind it.If its a service they offered they would surely promote it.
If an agent is doing it,it surely must be costing them more then they are making?

I dont think SF could bar the Orange number, but if SF found the agent to be breach of their T&C they could no doubt block access to 07744 if they wanted to.

No doubt it will all be sorted out in the wash!!!

I wonder if this is just some individual who has set this up - for instance could more than 1 person use this at once?
    I think....

Funny enough I carried out an experiment earlier re this . If you ring it,and then you ring it from another mobile at same time you get engaged on 2nd call!. So there must only be only one line involved, that some one has diverted to an 07744 number.
