help needed with o2 online tariff (refurb from student site)

got my refurb nokia 3230 yesterday, put sim in, it said i had no credit-thats fine i expected that. however, i could make calls- even with no balance. this worried me a bit in case i was going to be charged for it in some way, so i phoned up cust service first thing this morning. they put £10 on the sim, said something about 'if you buy an ex contract phone you do get free calls for a bit' which i dont get. im still making calls now but my credit is still £10-i presume this is cos it uses up the free units first before it takes it off your credit? im very confused, i just dont want to end up with some sort of bill because i have made calls im not entitled to? please dont flame me for this post, if someone could just clarify for me, esp if anyone else got the free calls with no credit when they got their refurb. thanks, L.

You should not be getting free calls unless you have subscribed to a bolt-on . They give you 3 months free on certain bolt-ons - including talk50 (which gives 50 mins free calls per month). You didn't add it on your order did you or text in for it ? You can check your order online to make sure.
Did you get a new sim pack ? .

I didn't get any free calls with my refurb E720..
I would query it with them . because when they realise their mistake they may hit you with a big bill ( or wipe out your credit).

i queried it, spoke to someone high up not standard cust service. he said they have just introduced a new thing that you get 30 mins free calls before your first top up, and in no way will i get any sort of a bill. thanks!
