The new rules on paypal claims require a signature online for items over £150 and you might want to check what dates those rules apply and what they actually say.
That's a bit of a sod!
Seems that only came in on the 30th September. Not sure if Paypal will go on when the transaction took place, or when the buyer raised a claim. Strange how the buyer raised a claim on the date the rules changed, eh?The following terms are effective for Claims, Reversals and Chargebacks filed on or after 30 September 2008. To view the seller protection programme terms for Claims, Reversals and Chargebacks filed prior to 30 September 2008 see Exhibit “A” to section 11 below.
Seems it applies to claims raised on or after that date. The buyer waited to raise a claim on the day the rules changed. OP, I don't suppose you made a note of the voucher numbers? If so, you may need to get the police involved, or at least threaten to get the police involved. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

Surely they know the problem with signatures though, not completely fair on the seller. No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Write to Royal Mail and state that the signature is not available online, can they send you a copy of it if it is available.
I did this recently and got a copy. It shouldn't cost anything.
Address to write to is:
Royal Mail Customer Service Centre
PO Box 740
Plymouth
PL9 7YB
Advise that you do this ASAP since it will take a few days for them to reply. By the way the above address does not require a stamp.
Hope this helps.0 -

Im not sure this will provide a result quick enough though. Any RM letters/claims I send in take about 3 weeks to be responded to so the OP will be outside of the claim period. Also, the phone operators at Customer Service can advise if they have a signature that isnt currently showing on the track and trace system and if they do can send it free of charge to you based on a phone request.
Im not sure what type of vouchers they are but is there any way the OP can advise (threaten) that they will of course need to contact the issuing party to cancel the vouchers if they are in fact 'lost' in the post.0 -
I woudnt worry if its sent via special delivery it requires a sig they dont just leave the items so if royal mail are at fault you are covered for atleast £250, so if royal mail cant provide the sig then you will win that way. state it the paypal dispute all details of the emails exchanged etc and the tracking number and they will sort it that way

The problem is though that item shows as delivered so RM will not pay out. All they will pay is compensation, usually a book of stamps for the fact that no signature was obtained.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just an update on this.
I emailed the seller on Monday, saying that as she hadn't received the vouchers, I was going to have to put in a claim with the Royal Mail as they have obviously been lost or stolen en-route to her, so it was quite likely that they would contact her to verify they hadn't been received. I then said that luckily I had made a note of the serial numbers (I hadn't, but the post further up gave me the idea) so I would contact M&S to see if I could get them stopped, assuming that they hadn't been used, but even if they had they would be able to trace which store had taken them.
This morning, logged in to see that the Paypal dispute has been closed by the buyer. :T
I am very tempted to email her and ask why she closed it though :rotfl:0 -
