Internet light out on router (talktalk)

hi there

my friend is with talktalk, i think he has the Huawei HG520 wireless router, all other lights are ok apart from the internet light, how can we get this light back on, so he can surf the web again, many thanks

switch the router off for 10 minutes and then back on, and see what happens, it is possible to get stale connections, do this will make sure anything down the line that has a problem, gets unlinked and re-kicked.



If after re-trying the modem and after 2/3 minutes the dsl light is off or if it flashes then it is trying to connect to the exchange, so firstly check the cable from the router to the filter on the telephone socket to make sure that it has not been accidently disconnected, and check the filter is plugged into the telephone socket. If he has another filter try that as well, if he still has a problem then he needs to contact taltalk.

the dsl-light does not appear to be the problem as this light is on, it is the Internet light that is off, many thanks

If the DSL light is on but not the internet it is usually a username/password authentication problem.

My parents had the same problem. I connected to the router via a browser and it had forgotten its authentication type and the username/password.
