BT line rental switch to Talktalk; better quality connection?

At present a line test says that my line is .5MB ish max. (Rubbish!)
If I switch to Talk Talk which is available at my exchange, could it theoretically get better?

unlikely to be much faster if at all. Talk Talk is adsl+2 but that means nothing with them. try Be or o2 if your looking for faster they seem to be true adsl+2 providers.0
