i have only £700 with them
For such a pitiful amount, yes, you're covered.
Yes, I realise that amount may mean a great deal to you, but in the larger scheme of things, no matter where that £700 is, you're covered.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

I have 200k in kaupthing (house sale) and have another 200k spread around in other accounts. I am totally terrified about the next few days. I have (as I imagine have a great many others) attempted to chaps transfer the money this evening to a UK bank, but of course nothing will move untill Monday. Will the Icelandic Gov or for that matter the UK Gov let us thousands of UK savers with money and trust in Kaupthing Edge fall by the wayside?
I wont be getting much sleep this weekend let me tell you.....0 -
I have money in Kaupthing and am not losing any sleep what so ever. As long as they maintain their interest rate I will continue to put money in them. Only if another provider beats their rate will I switch.
All of this is getting blown way out of proportion imo.0 -
Indeed.. the rate of my accounts is all that bothers me right now.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

A Very Happy Birthday Lynt ... hope it was a good one, and here's to many more.
Many Happy Returns on Your 50th, Lynt!"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

Under EU law compensation for any losses incurred due to the failure of a bank should generally be paid within three months - regardless of whether it is through a passport scheme or the UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme.0
