Cheap New year getaway pls help

Hi

It's my husbands Birthday on December 31st and we never go away as a majority of breaks around this time are very expensive.

Was wondering if there were any money savers that knew of some cheap 2-3 day breaks to anywhere to surprise my husband with(also to prove him wrong!).

Please help my eyes are now square from holiday hunting on the net!

I live in the east midlands so any departures info from this area would be greatly recieved. I am willing to also travel from london aswell.

What's your budget?
Airmiles(you can pay just £) have some short break deals starting from 1 or 2 Jan and you get 800miles per booking. These start at about £200 each.

Hi my budget is £350 max thanks for the suggestions so far, Amsterdam deal is great-but we recently went there, ANY other suggestions for other locations will be greatly excepted. The cheaper the better.
