Please could someone tell me if they are heavy on the electric useage?
Has anyone noticed a huge increase with their electric bill as a result of using one?
Many thanks

Generally speaking, it's like having a fan heater on.
 Most are 1-3kW
If you're unsure, list the model/make that you have and how much you're paying per unit for electricity and somebody will do the maths for you to work out how much it costs per hour to run.0

            Thank you.
Do you think they are any good?[STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]

If you've got damp or condensation, if your stuff's getting some mould on it etc, they're brilliant. they just suck the moisture out of the air. But you need to keep the windows shut really or you'll be replacing the dried air with few wet air from outside (like having a fan heater on and a window open).welshdeedee wrote: »Thank you.

It's quite scarey when you see how much water they squeeze out.0

My dehumidifer, although rated at 220W, runs at around 165w - about the same as a your average desktop computer, when browsing the internet.
I always have my dehumidifier running during most of the day from about October, until about January or February - or when the condensation stops appearing on my bedroom windows in the mornings. :o Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0 :o Everybody is equal; However some are more equal than others.0

We have Aircon/Dehumidifier and it uses 2.4kW for aircon and a lot less for Dehumidifying.0

we've used one for a couple of years now - we discovered some damp and bad condensation when we moved in.
Extra insulation, improved ventilation and a de-humidifier means we get no condensation now.
ours is on quite a lot and I've noticed no difference at all in the eletricity bill.
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0

Same here. I wouldn't be without it. I also put it in a room with all the damp laundry to dry it, it has a specific laundy setting.. Ours is http://www.johnlewis.com/230428592/Product.aspx., theres one going for £99 or best offer on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Delonghi-DNC65-Dehumidifier_W0QQitemZ120312789274QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120312789274&_trkparms=39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A15%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.0
