Broadband and Phone Package Advice please

hello - I'd be grateful for any help.
I carefully read these threads and Martin's helpful articles but without real understanding. Techie stats and abbreviations mean little or nothing to me)nor to many so-called experts in shops(basic road test:just ask some of them what DVD stands for and means)
I know I must be able to do better than BT My Connection Anytime for computer & landline but don't know how to begin or dispense with them. I need Broadband, too - now in my Cambs area. Have been warned off AOL by many - just want a simple package. There's only one of me, one putah, one 'phone and I recently unlocked Orange SIM(thanks to this site) for a 1/2 price Tesco job and converted to PAYG. Orange reception here was near nil.
I use callchecker weekly to update best prices for calls >NZ and France, which are about all I make.
I'd like cheapie cheaps please, to pay by DD,or any way that produces best advantage.

Have no idea what you are meaning with respect to mobile phones - im puzzled?

a simple cheap broadband package - zazizam's £11.99 2mb service, it has worked very well for me, and friends and family. for that price you also get their phone service thrown in
