    You sure Jinky?

It's brand new and free to a good home - I won a subscription to Eve in a competition on Mumsnet.com, but Eve is going out of print - so they've sent me that bag instead. I do like it but I won't use it, I have 2 lovely leather bags that were gifts so I have to use a lot! And a big slouchy one when I have more to carry. As well as a poncey Skip Hop changing bag for when out with the baby - so really no use at all for it.

    Christmas present for anyone?

I am going spare here, DS is a ball of energy today, might go out soon, but where. Argh. Too wet for the park, not sure where would be suitable for lunch - and not so brave on my own - maybe a drive to get him to have a nap. Not very MSE is it!

Is it? My mum's subscribed to that and hasn't heard anything  And their website is still live

Help! can any one here direct me to someone who can help with an old forgotten debt that has reared its ugly head again-summary follows
in 2004 i took a car on credit with YES CAR CREDIT obviously i defaulted on the agreement and they repo'd the car, when they called to make arrangements for me to pay the balance i made an offer then after a few weeks they stopped taking payments from my account ( i think this is because they went bust) nothing has happened since, no letters no calls, nothing(since early 2005) THEN today i received a call from a debt collection agency called GO, they said i have to pay all of the debt within 7 days or they will freeze my bank account and force me into bankruptcy - is this legal - am i still liable after this length of time, especially as they broke the payment agreement and then took no action, should i complain to the FSA?
  • Thanks everyone :grouphug:

She texted saying 'I never did anything to harm you when you were growing up' - well no, she didn't, ion fact I say she has been smoking 40 years, she stopped when pregnant with my brother and only started again when she divorced my dad. I know it is a raw nerve - my stepdad abhors smoking - his mum died from emphysema, the doctors said 'stop smoking or you will die' but she just couldn't. My mum saw it all too, so what chance have I of convincing her it's the right thing to do.

Maz handwashing might be a good one as it's less personal too, you'd wash your hands after doing lots of things and before picking up a baby. Maybe...

Jet you're right she clearly isn't ready but it's hard to see her bury her head in the sand. What does she think will happen to her if she doesn't stop. Sigh...

She is being passive agressive though and I don't know how to respond - latest text says 'I wanted to know where I stood before I come home and the way I understood it was that I was covered in smoke particles but if you're okay about waiting for a few minutes after a cigarette, well I got the impression that you wanted me to take more precautions. If 5 or 10 minutes is okay with you then I misunderstood you'

   !!!!!! I have never said anything but please wait 5/10 minutes  Actualy it's true she will be covered in smoke particles but I've never said that - putting words in my mouth - !!!!ed off now. She is probably laughing at me, she does a lot.

  • Hellooooooo all - sorry have been lagte on parade, am so excited Mr Flowrs and I are off to France on Monday for four days which is wonderful and the weather forecast says it is goint to be about 23 wahoo.

Anyways was looking at parking and realised that for not too much more we could stay in a hotel (OK we only live 30 minutes away) and sent a cheeky email to the hotel manager to ask if we could get upgraded as it is our wedding anniversary and he said yes!!!! Will be a nice surprise for MR F.

DD I don't think you're overreacting at all. Did you know it takes 2 hours to breathe out all the crap from a cig? I've got immunological problems and I think it's down to my mum smoking when she was pregnant with me and then heavily all through my childhood. It's something I feel strongly about, even though I'm not a parent.

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox.

I had my hair cut this morning, at the training college. It took ages but it looks fab. And it only cost me £6. Although I don't know how I kept a straight face when the one who looked like a transexual (really) asked if I minded her blow jo... drying my hair.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Forgot to say, I agree the new ebay rules are terrible, both them and paypal are all about the buyers now, they don't seem to realise that if they keep annoying sellers then there'll be nothing for the buyers to buy!

DD - what i would do now is send mum a text saying this

"hey mum stop being a silly mare, you know how much Elliot and i love having you around, we'd never want you stop coming over. We'll sort it out when you get back, this texting lark is making us both sound crabbier than we mean to. love you loads, enjoy the rest of your holiday! Stop worrying!"

that should stop the texting as all it is doing is adding fuel to both your "paranoia"s about upsetting one another... i don't mean paranoias in a horrible way.... it sounds like you n your mum are very alike!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
