Can I go into branch can cancel the fixed savings account? opened it by mistake lol

Just cancel and close the account. You'll get your money back but with no interest. Its only been there since yesterday so you're not losing much at all.

Must say I`m a bit baffled how you managed to open a fixed rate WebSaver account.

The only way you can do it is to have a variable rate WebSaver in the first place.

    It does say that.

BUT when you fill in the online form it also gives the option to fund it from an existing HBOS current account and an option even further to return it on maturity to the current account. So not sure why it says you need a variable websaver.

7%AER for 3 to 6 months, still a pretty good deal for short term fixed account, considering the base rate has just been lowered to 4.5%, that is a 2.5% extra.

I have opened another one today while it is still available.
    Vodafone sucks.
