Halifax Websaver 7% info please

Options
Hi guys just opened one of these with a £500 deposit...

http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/fixedwebsaver.asp

Can someone confirm whether I can keep adding money to the account i.e. set up a standing order so every month until maturity a lump sum goes in?

    Nope

    No additional investments.

But you can open extra ones while the offer remains available.

    I'd move fast though.

If you want to save regularly with Halifax their Regular Saver also pays 7% fixed for a year.

    Thats a right

I already have a halifax regular savings account (online) with that 10% interest offer about 3 months ago.

Would I be able to open that regular saver because of that still? or am I only allowed that 10% account...?

    Thanks..

You must aready have a variable rate websaver otherwise you couldn`t open a fixed rate one.
  • I think I will go into branch next week and tell them I opened it by mistake and see if I can close it...

Please note: To open a fixed rate Halifax Web Saver, you will need to open a variable rate Halifax Web Saver account first. A fixed rate Halifax Web Saver can only receive the opening deposit from a variable rate Halifax Web Saver. When your fixed term ends, your savings will be transferred into your variable rate Web Saver.

The answer may well be somewhere in the Terms and Conditions.

    around 12.1 and 32 perhaps
unless you can talk them into applying 13.2

    although the product summary states
No withdrawals allowed. Early closure permited after 3 months (with loss of interest)
