What a wonderful development for Edwina C , Father Ted,Rachman and the like. As taxpayers they will now be bailing out the Icesavers with compensation.

How poetically sweet that their vitriol and bile was not in the slightest effective in the eyes of justice and fairness.

I'm genuinely pleased for everyone who gets their cash back from the Icesave scandal, whenever that might be..

What I am not pleased about, is that people like you are seeking to sweep this outrage under the carpet.

It seems that your ilk don't want people learning a crucial lesson from all of this - which is that teams of professional propagandists are working forums such as this one.

It's just a job to them, and they don't give a damn whether we lose our money or not.

You agree that is a useful point to note?

I'm a teacher....you have no idea the pressures I'm under, you probably think we spend 6 weeks sunning ourselves in the caribean, rather than planning an enitre years lessons, marking papers, dealing with paperwork from the government.
How frightening that someone as naive as you is allowed to "educate" our kids. The word is Caribbean, by the way.

Back to that faked IT "fault" that prevented customer withdrawals. That was the contrived "failure" that you said was "no IT failure" but was done to simply "prevent a run" on the bank.

Don't you get it?! That was really serious!

If Icesave are not held to account for doing that, it gives a carte blanche to every other bank.

It sets a precedent that non-judicial freezing of accounts for commercial reasons is acceptable banking practice in the UK. It is not acceptable.

    Think again........

Oh and there was no IT failure at Icesave, they locked off access to the accounts to prevent a run and instant bankruptcy, but no doubt, again you couldn't be bothered to do your research.

I said the IT "faults", which is how Icesave reported it themselves, were contrived, staged, faked, in order to stem the capital outflow from the bank.

At one time (Monday evening) the message on Icesave's webpage read:...
You are now entering the Icesave log in area.

We have been experiencing intermittent faults with our website over the last 12 hours. These were intermittent faults randomly affecting different groups of customers at random intervals. Our IT team has now resolved the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience these faults may have caused.
    There were no genuine "faults"!

Icesave used traffic shaping, or a similar technical method to stall withdrawal transactions, in order to stem the capital outflow.

The bank then dishonestly reported the problems as being due to "intermittent faults" at "random intervals" and "randomly affecting" different customers!

Since 300,000 are now out of pocket, I would suggest that action of preventing customers from accessing their own money amounted to a criminal offence on the part of the bank.

I am STILL curious to know why you sought to dispel that allegation, and how you are so sure it is unfounded...

I think you have lost the plot with your idiotic focus on Icesave and the people affected by it.You seem to be overlooking that there is worldwide turmoil in Banking with many larger scale failures and a massive bail out for some of the UK's largest institutions.

So Icesave got it wrong,Iceland is broken, but so are many other banking systems including the UK. Where were your warnings about that? Where do you keep your money? People like Genny and many others acted in good faith and you just go on lecturing them about their decisions. The Government have much more compassion than ever you will have and have done the honourable thing. To that extent the Icesavers are no different to the :j Northern Rockers.

As for your conspiracy theories and shills (whatever that means) ,it frankly makes you look more and more embarrassing.

    He has none.

He's resorting to ad-hominem attacks and potentially libelous statements (some of which I note still remain on here, even after being reported to the moderators,) since he appears to have nothing better to say.
    Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries
  • I asked to transfer a larger sum on 6.10.08 - and the statement now shows that as having been processed. It is no longer on the account. But nor has it arrived anywhere else yet ! But at least, as mentioned today in a later post, the Treasury has said that because Iceland has reneged on its agreements, all savers will be repaid from London, and Britain will later take-up the matter with Iceland. Shouldn't be too hard to freeeze all their British assets and use them to pay the savers. Let's hope it works.

    Lunatic post.
People like you give this site a bad rep.
    Panic ramping idiot.

Should have kept your foul mouth shut and listened to those telling you Iceland was unsafe months ago. I am sure Icesave will reward your loyalty. Not.
