but with SO many people just on here alone, withdrawing all their cash, then the percentages you quoted will undoubtedly now be declining rapidly, surely?

btw I have £25,000 in a fixed bond, not maturing until April next year, so I have no choice but to leave it.

No need to panic, my money is definitely staying where it is too!!

    Oh dear!

And there you were, "genny", calling me nuts on 29th Sept for warning that Icesave was about to implode.

Our worries over Icesave had "no foundation whatsoever", you promised, before telling us...
Listen to Jonbvn and isofa on this thread, they are the only two with any sense.
I hope no one followed your appalling "advice".

Icelands GDP figure of 11bln is based on the huge profits the banking sector has been making out of the easy money boom. Its real gdp is based on farming

That means the chances of getting anything back by government levies on its real economy are looking increasingly grim. It was nor that long ago that we worried about vikings from iceland coming over to rape and pillege and steal. That was when they discovered longships. Now they have discovered banking.
so says another ordinary mug fighting the 1% who own the political machine grinding them down from on high...

No surprise the roll call of rogues includes "LucyTheDwarf", "genny" "isofa", "Paul_Herring", "FatPig", and many more.

I'm really pleased for you that you stuck to your guns, ignored the shills, and followed your better judgment..

I've said it once already - the forum owner should study the web access logs, if not now, then at a later date.

Exactly who were all these Icesave shills telling us to sink our cash into this bank, in spite of the increasingly loud warnings that it was about to go bust?

You are truly the worst poster here at the moment.

I notice you miss Martin out of your role of shame? Odd that, considering he's recommendations and this is his site.

I'd not blame him, like others I made the choice and saved with Icesave.

Are you incapable of making your own decisions? And now you are happy to blame others, because you didn't do your own research.

Good grief if I told you to put your head in the oven, would you do it, then blame me. What a sheep.

I am no shill, and neither are the others, I've reported this post which amounts liable defamation.

If you were so wise, then you'd have not taken Martin's advice and invested in the first place, or perhaps you never did, you are just here to stir up discontent amoungst the members.

Martin was receive kickbacks from these banks, but not members, I've been really happy with Icesave and KE, great service from both, I'm still sticking with KE. And I give my opinion.

Icesave is a mess that no one could have predicted yesterday, if you were at all worried, you've had heeded the warnings not to save more than the protected limit, not one of us here has ever enouraged people to risk over the limit.

I've got a large chunk of my life savings stuck at Icesave, and I'm worried as everyone else, but I'm not turning into a headless chicken as nothing has been fully debated by Iceland and Icesave as what will happen. There will be announcements this morning by all reports.

Oh and there was no IT failure at Icesave, they locked off access to the accounts to prevent a run and instant bankruptcy, but no doubt, again you couldn't be bothered to do your research.
  • Just imagine the chaos that would happen if Icesave did open their web-site for withdrawals and deposits....It would be like opening a money version of Niagra and Victoria falls....

Rubbish! People were warning that Icesave was going to blow-up way back in March. As their warnings grew louder, shills like you made ever more effort to discredit them as "scaremongers", as you liked to call them.

I said the IT "faults", which is how Icesave reported it themselves, were contrived, staged, faked, in order to stem the capital outflow from the bank.

At one time (Monday evening) the message on Icesave's webpage read:...
You are now entering the Icesave log in area.

We have been experiencing intermittent faults with our website over the last 12 hours. These were intermittent faults randomly affecting different groups of customers at random intervals. Our IT team has now resolved the issue. We apologise for any inconvenience these faults may have caused.
    There were no genuine "faults"!

Icesave used traffic shaping, or a similar technical method to stall withdrawal transactions, in order to stem the capital outflow.

The bank then dishonestly reported the problems as being due to "intermittent faults" at "random intervals" and "randomly affecting" different customers!

Since 300,000 are now out of pocket, I would suggest that action of preventing customers from accessing their own money amounted to a criminal offence on the part of the bank.

I am curious to know why you seek to dispel that allegation, and how you are so sure it is unfounded...

Tell us a bit about yourself, "genny".

What a wonderful development for Edwina C , Father Ted,Rachman and the like. As taxpayers they will now be bailing out the Icesavers with compensation.
How poetically sweet that their vitriol and bile was not in the slightest effective in the eyes of justice and fairness.:j
  • It's not totally fair for the UK taxpayers - but it is even more damaging to the reputation of Iceland and its banks - trust will never be regained..

I'm a teacher - not a shill, whatever that might be. Hence I can only post now and then when I have spare moments.

Are you a troll? Or a stalker?

What do you do, do you work for Barclays or some other against Iceland company, you posts suggest this.

I work so hard for my money, you have no idea the pressures I'm under, you probably think we spend 6 weeks sunning ourselves in the caribean, rather than planning an enitre years lessons, marking papers, dealing with paperwork from the government.

My money is now at risk - is yours?

You don't seem to have any money at risk, you don't seem to do anything except stir and upset people.

You should be banned from this site.
