I would like to vent my anger with lastminute.com who have proved to me that they are just ticket touts like the rest of the scammers around. I booked tickets to take my partner ice skating at Old Trafford Football Ground Ice Rink. They failed to provide the tickets and failed to give me a refund of £20!
This is the e-mail response from them:
Further to last e-mail, (see below) please reply with a positive response:
In relation to my booking (reference: 64036836 and previous e-mail's below), I have just returned from the box office of Manchester United Ice Rink extremely annoyed! I booked Manchester United Ice Rink - Old Trafford - exclusive Hot Tip offer with free hot chocolate for 2 people from 9pm - 10pm this evening (costing £20.00 total, including booking fee), I was assured by Vivek Nangia Customer Services Team lastminute.com that if I produced my confirmation email, and the credit card that I used to make the booking as proof of ID, that I would receive my tickets to Ice Skate.
I produced all the required documentation as requested but was not allowed to skate as the box office denied all knowledge of my booking saying they do not accept bookings from lastminute.com, in addition to this disappointment, the Skating ended at 9pm anyway therefore I was even denied the opportunity to purchase new tickets!
I feel extremely angry  with lastminute.com as this was supposed to be a special treat for my partner for her birthday and I expect an apology and full refund. Your email below stating that this booking is non-cancellable and non-refundable, is, I assume, a joke. How can you possibly not refund my money when you have failed to provide a service, even when I have requested the tickets again as detailed below in my e-mail on Thursday 24 November 2005?
I have copied this e-mail to Mr Martin Lewis from moneysavingexpert.com, who I'm sure would be very interested in the way you do business.
I look forward to your reply.
Yours annoyingly Sam.

I will be away from home from early tomorrow morning and will return Sunday afternoon expecting to take my partner skating for her birthday. You might want to edit your post to remove your phone nunber and email address or a mod will come along and shoot you!
ps that is really crap from lastminute - surely they must refund your money. What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!
DFD - WAS: a while ago
NOW - not sure, due to boyfriend going back to uni for masters and now pgce. Worth it in the long run!
Proud to be dealing with my debts!0 -
Thanks for the advice, this is my first ever vent/post... good start!0

Hope you get sorted soon mate, let us know how you get on.
Shocking CS, would give them a ring and speak to a manager / supervisor rather than e-mail though. That way you get an immediate answer and don't get fobbed off like on e-mail!
Good luck

Should I repeatedly send my e-mail (with 20 carbon copies) automatically every 30 minutes, they will be forced to either reply or I'll crash there e-mail system? :j0

lol, can you call and speak to a manager. if it doesn't work you could try writing to their head office.
Did you do something else instead? If you did and this cost more than the £20 you should ask lastminute.com to pay the difference as well as a full refund.
If they are refusing the refund you might be in a better posiiton if you ask ofr a refund in kind eg tickets to something else at a higher value this way it costs them less anyway and you get a little more.
Good luck
