Tiscali vs talktalk

im thinking of going broadband, i have a bt line, but pay orange for dialup £10
a month + bt phone and line rental charges, way to expensive
i have been comparing talktalk and tiscali as they both do line and broadband
packages, of the two who is the better, i prefer an all in one package
i cant get virgin not in a cable area. talktalk has llu in my area what ever that means.

Whatever you do, DON'T JOIN UP WITH TISCALI, PIPEX OR ANY OF THEIR BROTHER/SISTER COMPANIES even though they have good offers on.

Once you do, you'll see why you pay so low - you get nothing.

If you didn't want an all in one package - I'd suggest o2 Broadband as your broadband provider. I pay £10 for up to 16Megs with them. For evening and weekend calls, I have a mobile phone instead of landline because I pay £7.50 for line rental for off peak mins and weekend t-mob numbers and landlines. I guess that part is preference though. So that comes to £17.50 altogether for me.

P.S Sorry for the big bold letters - the companies are currently in my bad books (well they have been from the time I was stupid enough to become a customer with them two years ago)!

I wouldn't touch talktalk, we had so much trouble with them. They wouldn't fix my line and customer service wasn't very good. then when i managed to close my account about a year late they were trying to send bailiffs out for a line i wasn't using. Sorry for the rant it still makes my blood boil!. I have also used tiscali which seem ok but did have trouble getting an engineer out to check our line and went without internet for 2 months! my husband almost killed himself not being able to use his laptop!
I use sky because i have the tv package and broadband for free so it works well for me.

Talk Talk Technical help is diabolical!!!!
It took 75 minutes to get through to technical help today but the person I spoke to could not reconnect my Broadband and gave me another number. It took 55 minutes to get through and another 15 to reconnect.
This senario seems to happen about every 3 months. They have asked me to renew for a further18 months offering a Router for £15. NO CHANCE.!!!
