hi all
the most recent malware check has picked up nothing so assuming this means all is sorted, or at least the pc is cleaner than it was a week ago before you guys began to help me out of this mess!
whats the best way going forward to keeping my pc clean? ive now learnt that spybot, avg & ad-aware need to be run weekly as a minimum, should i also be running malware and how do i know what to delete/leave alone without asking you guys and taking up your time?0 -
Re-enable the TeaTimer in SpyBot. The TeaTimer in SpyBot alerts you whenever a program attempts to place an entry in your Registry(to enable itself to restart when your computer boots up).
Utilise the Immunise function is SpyBot.
Once SpyBot is installed and it's features enabled, you'll be safe from most Malware....but not from yourself.
In most cases, unless you are installing software, if the TeaTimer pops up telling you that an item has been added/deleted to/from your Registry, take note.0 -
...and also use an antispyware with real-time protection, like spyware doctor (free via https://www.majorgeeks.com)......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Frankly, that's overkill. In addition....
The trial offers time unlimited real-time protection (free spyware blocking), but does not remove threats detected during on-demand scans, updates may also differ to those supplied to registered users.
Starter Edition: The Starter Edition offers full scan and removal of threats, and basic real-time protection, is available for free as part of the Google Pack.
Personally, I would just keep SpyBot and AVG, keeping Malwarebytes AntiMalware for On Demands scans.0 -

Don't forget to update SpyBot before you Immunize each time.0
