Thanks for that. I've got two packs of chicken thighs and some salmon fillets - I'm thinking of taking them out to defrost tonight and cook with them tomorrow, just to be on the safe side - this is the longest evening, as tomorrow I will go to the gym after work and will try to stay out as late as possible - good excuse to get fit, lol!!!

Aren't you covered on your household insurance for freezer breakdown?0

If you tell us what type of meat it is we may be able to help more.

Leaving the freezer door open may still be covered by your contents insurance if you have accidental damage cover.
For meat recipes look in the Complete Cooking Collection under meat.

hiya,
you poor thing!! what a nightmare.
if you cant find any recipes you like on that thread i would cook as much of the meat as you can, then perhaps slice and freeze it to use in sandwiches/ salads etc. just remember that once you defrost and add it to a recipe you wont be able to freeze again.
HTH
sorry i should have added that i meant once you have defrosted, cooked, then froze the cooked meat, that once you defrost the cooked meat you cant re-freeze it againPlease be nice to all moneysavers!
