To holiday or not to holiday?

Can you be certain that you have job security? How much will you be affected by a rise in the cost of living ? If you do go on holiday will you be worrying about how much it all cost, and how much you are spending ?Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0

Just do it ! Even if the poop hits the fan you will have memories lol

If you want to get ahead in the Rat Race then you will need some faster Rats !! :rolleyes:0 -
I wouldn't personally book a holiday (or anything else) unless the money was already in the bank,if circumstances were to change I wouldn't be left owing as it would already be paid for.
We put a regular amount in the Nationwide each month, this is our holiday account so we wouldn't book a holiday unless there was enough in there to cover it.0 -
BTW we've just had 3 nights in Spain - 2 ppl HB accommodation and flights £64! You don't have to break the bank to get away.0

I agree with tiamaria, you don't have to break the bank for a holiday. I never do

I was just wondering on everyone's views for a holiday in 2009 with the current financial climate?
I am currently looking to go away next year, but with all the doom and gloom around about money, are you thinking of not having one, or having a cheap UK based holiday?
I look forward to hearing your responses

Go for it, The only doom & gloom is companies who don't know what they are doing.
It's not an individual problem just certain sectors.
I don't think it will stop me going away 4 times a year.;)Thomson 757 Man0 -

I wouldn't worry about all that, You can get paronoid about the economic climate.
Just get on with life, You can't 're write' the world.:jThomson 757 Man0 -
Perhaps if more people enjoyed some of the fantastic spots we have on our own doorstep, thereby pumping/keeping money around the UK economy, we wouldn't be reading so much doom & gloom. Every Pound you spend goes towards another UK wage which keeps the money wheel spinning.little_miss_sunshine wrote: »having a cheap UK based holiday0 -

This is what we do too, currently there is enough for a deposit, then there will be enough in there by the time we have to pay the rest.WiseInvestor wrote: »Perhaps if more people enjoyed some of the fantastic spots we have on our own doorstep, thereby pumping/keeping money around the UK economy, we wouldn't be reading so much doom & gloom. Well yes this what I have always thought, but having been holidaying within the UK for so many years I am looking for something a little different, warm with nothing to do but relax.
