Moving Tessa And Cash ISA

I have £25,000 in a (Tessa) ISA and £10,000 in a cash ISA in the B&B. I am worried about I am now with Abbey. Can I move all of it somewhere else into another (Tessa) ISA and Cash ISA:question:

  • Yeah, easy enough to move. I dunno why you're worried.

TOISAs (TESSA ISAs) ceased to exist on April 6th 2008 & are now just Cash ISAs - you can transfer either or both of your Cash ISAs to one or more ISA providers (e.g., if you wish to stay below the £35,000 FSCS limit, you could transfer £25,000 to provider A and £10,000 to provider B).

Remember that your new provider(s) has.have to initiate the transfer(s)

Not sure why you are worried, the providers are very safe, it's just Abbey's completely lack of customer service that bothers me, and why I'd never use them.

If you want to move, initiate a transfer, do not close the ISAs first, or you'll lose all the tax free status. Been well covered on the forums, just do a search, and look in the correct sub-form: ISAs, Toisas, Peps & Tessas

A bank with good customer service? Now there's a thought.

If I move the Tessa ISA and the Cash ISA somewhere else do it all become a Cash ISA?

Yes, they have all be renamed, "Cash ISAs" don't move... transfer.
