When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Hi to any new posters and a big shout to the usual gang:j
Today I will:
Busy day ahead here have to keep oldies out of way whilst we have new flooring laid in communal lounge/dining area:rolleyes: that should be fun when you have 50 of them intent on having a nosey at what is going on:D
Have a good day everyone:D

Andan hope you got the assignment finished okay, missed you yesterday:D

Good morning sophiesmum, anyone else who's beaten me to posting and anyone to follow.
I went to bed just after 20:00 last night so I'm in a considerably better mood today
There's a lovely sunrise over Sheffield and it's stopped raining - woo!
Today should be a fairly quiet day but I have:
* had breakfast at home and brought dinner into work
* checked all my bank stuff - still waiting for Quidco and a printed statement through the post - other than that, all fine
* checked for surveys, none yet today
* had a cup of tea courtesy of work
Today I will:
* keep an eye on surveys
* if my statement has come through the post when I get back, get the application for Kaupthing sorted
* not have a takeaway for tea... I've not had one since last Friday and my trousers are feeling a little baggy already. There's a fish pie in the freezer I think.
* have my second NSD of the month (unless Boots breaks again and I can get loads of Crimble pressies!)
Have a good day everyone

Hello everyone!
Sorry but I've been a wee bit busy the last couple of days.
I finally got the cheque in from my competition win and it cleared yesterday! I've bought myself a couple of little treats, things I've been shopping around for for a while. but the rest is getting thrown at debts. I won't be debt free just yet but it will ease the pressure greatly.
Today I have/will
- check my bank balance and giggle a little!
- charge my phone at work
- check my phone spend
- store cupboard meals
I am meeting a friend Ive not seen in a wee while and we are going shopping this evening. I have written a list and prices I am willing to pay and I am NOT going to deviate from this.
Have a good day everyone!

mornin' Sophiesmum :hello:
Have a great picture in my head of lots of oldies peering over new flooring and offering lots of advice to the folk laying the floor, maybe giving the odd prod with a walking stick to get the advice home! :rotfl:I used to do some voluntary work and enjoyed the company of the oldies, very interesting some of them.
I'm going to the optician shortly and will then spend the rest of the day doing some major housework and de-cluttering - now there's something to look forward to.... I must clean the windows...
Haven't made a payment to the saddle yet, it will be either £2.02 or £200.02, depending on whether paypal has landed yet.
Today I will- clean the windows
- do some batch soup
- clean the stone floors
- wash the paintwork
- clear my ironing pile
- clear out the top of the wardrobe
- make a pile for ebay

Again, not much I'm afraid!
Got heating on as I'm FREEZING!:snow_laug but have hung all my washing over radiators to dry.
And instead of buying a de-nitting product I have denitted young boy this morning using conditioner and nit comb (Oh and he has LOVELY sleek shiny hair now lol! :rotfl: )
Other than that, not sure what else doing today. Will have to see as I go along.......

I'm not in work today - got an ear infection so decided to take today as annual leave so I can stay indoors drinking tea rather than having the wind whistling through my ears and making things worse.
Not got any money to spend but a friend is bringing some coffees and muffins over at lunchtime - their treat! All I have to do is show them how mortgage exit fees can be reclaimed.Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
